Al-Sa'di's interpretation is one that focuses on clarifying the intended meaning of the verse in clear and concise language, mentioning the meaning or ruling contained within the verse, whether explicitly stated or implied, without digressions, stories, Isra'iliyyat (narratives of Jewish origin), or recounting sayings that deviate from the intended meaning, or mentioning grammatical analyses unless the meaning depends on it. He is concerned with establishing the Salafi creed, turning to God, deriving legal rulings, fundamental principles, jurisprudential benefits, and Quranic guidance, among other benefits which he may occasionally elaborate upon. He pays particular attention to the verses describing God's attributes, interpreting them according to the creed of Ahlus-Sunnah (the People of the Sunnah).
