Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. I praise Him and send prayers and peace upon His servant and Messenger Muhammad, his family and companions. And then:

It is no secret that the text of Zaad al-Mustaqni’ is one of the most famous summaries of the books of the late Hanbalis, may God have mercy on them. It is distinguished by its brevity and its collection of meanings and rulings in brief expressions, unlike the Guide of the Student, whose author went to great lengths to clarify it, hoping for forgiveness.

The text of Al-Zad has been printed in several editions at different times, and each edition has its own merit according to the interest of its owner. Among those who printed and verified it most recently is the virtuous Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Habdan, who took an interest in it and printed it in an excellent edition after comparing it with handwritten copies. He added commentaries, verifications and additions to it, so it came out full of these important benefits with his attention to punctuation marks, connection and separation. He also provided a comprehensive introduction to it, in which he mentioned the terminology of the companions and other things. This is something that is desired and calls for its acquisition and benefit from it. May God reward him well for what he did of this blessed work and benefit from it.

This was said and written by Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz bin Aqil (formerly Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the Supreme Judicial Council), praising God and sending prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and all his companions.

Introduction to the Tenth Edition

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the most honorable of messengers, Muhammad, his family and companions. Now then:

This is the tenth edition of the book Zad al-Mustaqni’ fi Ikhtisar al-Muqni’, thanks to God Almighty and His grace. This edition is distinguished from others by the following:

1- Correcting what needs to be corrected and rectified.

2- Adding side headings to help the student understand and comprehend.

3 - Adding the definitions of the chapters. The original is that they are from the square garden, and what is not from it will be indicated in its place.

4- Amend what needs to be amended in the arrangement and coordination.

We ask God Almighty to make this investigation beneficial and to make it pure and blessed. May God’s prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.
