This diwan, in its second edition, documents a poetic journey spanning more than four decades. It is divided into two parts; the second part includes the poems written by the poet and published in the first edition in 1996, thus completing a poetic project that combines emotional experience and national documentation.
The diwan contains 183 Nabati poems whose themes vary between praise, pride, elegy, love poetry, description, and emotional poems, in addition to poems for national occasions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, occasions of the Royal Saudi Air Force, King Faisal Air Academy, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Palestine, as well as sports occasions.
The diwan includes poems dedicated to kings, sheikhs, heads of state, princes, military leaders, and poets. Among the most prominent elegies are those for King Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on them. The diwan also documents a number of military and national occasions, including graduation ceremonies from King Faisal Air Academy under the patronage of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on them – and their visits to air bases during Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, in addition to poems that chronicle prominent events such as the Riyadh Summit in 2017 and the visit of US President Donald Trump to the Kingdom, thus making the diwan a vibrant poetic record of the nation's and people's memory for decades.
