The pleasure of literature

I find reading a book to be an experience no less important than traveling or falling in love. For example, reading Berkeley, Shaw, or Emerson are real experiences for me, like visiting London.

Many people tend to think of real life from one perspective, such as toothaches, headaches, travel, etc., and, on the other hand, see imaginary life as the world of the arts. But I don't think this distinction makes sense. Life is made up of all these parts.

We believe we can invent new things, or that we need to invent them, and in doing so, we almost insult the wonders and curiosities of this world. Some writers who have written truly fantastic stories have failed to notice the mystery of this world.
