This novel is based on the true story of a simple Indian worker named "Najeeb" who sold everything he owned and traveled to
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - In search of a living, he happened to come across a sheep farm in the barren desert. There, he lived like a goat for three years, under the cruelty of a Bedouin employer who beat him even for relieving himself with water.
There was another unidentified worker who tried to escape, but only his bones were found. He was killed by the bullet of the arbab (the employer). One day, Najib escaped with two friends, an Indian and a Somali, from a neighboring farm. They lost their way in the desert and came face to face with death. The Indian friend died, but Najib was carried on his shoulders by the muscular Somali, who carried him like a wet handkerchief. He took him to safety. He recovered his soul and was deported to his homeland. He met Benjamin, the novelist. He innocently told him stories, but Benjamin discovered in them the spirit of an exciting novel. He transformed them into reality, forming a complete novel.
