Anatomy: A Love Story

Hazel Sennett is a woman who aspires to become a surgeon more than she desires marriage. Jack Currer is a resurrected man trying to survive in a city where death is easy. When they meet by chance outside the Edinburgh Anatomical Society, Hazel is initially unconcerned. But after being expelled from lectures by the renowned surgeon Dr. Beecham for being heterosexual, she realizes that her new friend may be more useful than she expected. Because Hazel has made a deal with Dr. Beecham: if she can pass the medical examination on her own, the university will let her enroll. However, without formal classes, Hazel will need more than just her books—she will need corpses to study and bodies to dissect. Luckily, she has made a friend who digs them up for a living. But Jack has his own problems: strange men have been seen lurking around cemeteries, and his friends are disappearing off the streets. Hazel and Jack work together to uncover the secrets buried not just in unmarked graves, but at the heart of Edinburgh society.
