In this book, you will learn the true meaning of leadership and how to become a leader (if you desire to). In the first four chapters, we will dismantle four myths that have crippled the idea of leadership in our modern era: first, that leadership must have "heroic" characteristics; second, the necessity of a leader being a certain type of person; third, that leadership must be from the front; and fourth, that leadership only manifests in times of crisis. You will simply learn the opposite: that leadership characteristics are routine, that anyone can take the reins of leadership even if the group doesn't see them as a leader, and that true, impactful leadership that genuinely makes a difference manifests every day, not just in times of crisis. In the chapters of this book, I will provide you with what you need if you seek to advance (and since you are reading this book, I will assume you do): the necessary mindset, a basic set of skills, methods for dealing with failures (which will inevitably occur), and guidance on how to start. You will also discover the leadership style that best suits you, which will become clear to most of us as I review information that clarifies the characteristics of each style, and you can then refine your natural leadership style for the best results.
