Perhaps this is your first time flying solo; therefore, choosing the places you want to visit or the paths to follow can be confusing—fear not, I'm here to help guide you. What I'm aiming for in this metaphor-filled introduction is you, dear reader, going on a "journey" (sorry for the X Factor language), to find what you love and make that your focus. Your ultimate goal is to combine what you enjoy doing with what you get paid to do, so that what you enjoy doing is also what you get paid for! That's crazy, isn't it? But work is "work," and fun things only come after work hours. No, it shouldn't be that way; it's entirely possible to find a job you love or to start your own business where you find all your passion and interests. It's also possible to find a new career, turning your life 180 degrees and starting anew. It seems fantastical because that's what "others" always do. We've all read stories or seen articles about people who gave up their jobs—as accountants, for instance—despite their success, to become bakers and live happily ever after. Yes, just as it happened to others, it can happen to you too; you just have to do it, and that's what this book is about—encouraging you, pushing you forward, and most importantly, reminding you that life is too short not to pursue your desired goals, regardless of your age or position. You might be a CEO or a high school student, it doesn't matter who you are. We all deserve a chance to discover the things that make us happy and to fight for them.
