This book contains many references to prominent figures from the mid-1990s, such as sports celebrities and politicians. These figures are no longer in the spotlight these days, but the lessons they represent persist. Some people say that Dad's ideas are outdated and no longer apply to today's world. I completely disagree. People may be skilled marketers. They may know how to write catchy headlines that grab attention. I applaud them for that. But the truth, as Dad said, is that there are some absolutes. For example, would you hire a relatively honest accountant to work for your company? Of course not. That never changes. There are principles in relationships that never change. The way people like to be spoken to or the way you earn their respect never changes.
