We have gathered within the covers of this book a large collection of sayings, quotations, and fragments (or what is called minimal literature) written and spoken by a large number of translators from ancient and modern Arabs and non-Arabs. However, the majority of the quotations are attributed to masters of the Arabic language, including academics, translators, writers, journalists, publishers, and philosophers. In collecting them, we have relied on a large number of refereed periodicals, magazines, newspapers, documented interviews and dialogues, as well as specialized articles and studies, in addition to a number of solid books and references specialized in translation. This book will remain like a memory to which I am not only referring to the translator, but also to the writer, publisher, translation students, and the ordinary reader, to draw on what is new to them, whether an idea here, or a strategy there, to help them in their work and hone their translation and reading skills and experiences.
