Criticism and resistance

The title "Criticism and Resistance" refers to a fundamental theme that unites many of the chapters in this book. These chapters critique literature or address works that analyze literature and culture in general from the perspective of resistance, by which we mean the human movement rejecting injustice and striving to liberate itself from various forms of domination. This is clearly evident in the criticism labeled "postcolonial criticism," which has flourished since the 1980s and remains active. However, the book also encompasses other narrative and poetic concerns that certainly qualify as criticism, but are not connected to the issue of resistance. Hence the book's subtitle, in the hope that the reader will find therein justification for reading.
