When Gibran Masoud compiled "Al-Ra'id" (The Pioneer), he drew upon the enduring authenticity of a timeless dictionary whose craftsmanship transcends the passage of time. He selected from the newer elements that ensured this dictionary remained relevant to the evolving literature and sciences of the Arabic language. Its continued existence remains essential for students of Arabic and its various schools and institutes throughout the Arab world. This is true despite technological advancements and the dominance of technology; a dictionary is a value unaffected by the waning of energy or the disappearance of broadcasts. Recognizing the importance of this concept, which Professor Gibran Masoud has championed for years, we have produced this revised edition under his supervision. "Al-Ra'id" retains its original features that made it a pioneer, presented in a new format, while maintaining the alphabetical order of words according to their first letters, a system first adopted by "Al-Ra'id." We are proud to put this Musawi book back in the hands of those in need, and he felt confident that it was keeping pace with this language: in terms of presence, development, and beauty.
