The United Arab Emirates (Sheikhdoms of the Omani coast before the year (1971)) occupies a unique position in the history of the Gulf. This region has acquired a special importance in international politics since the beginning of the nineteenth century. The importance of its Arab, geographical location, as it controls the entrance to the Arabian Gulf on the one hand, and on the other hand overlooks the Gulf of Oman, so it formed an important part of the first line of defense drawn up by British policy. In the twentieth century, it was an important station for the British imperial air line to India.
