In an imaginary region in the United Arab Emirates, the novel "Quail Al Jinn" takes place. It deals with the era of Portuguese colonialism and the expansion of its empire across the world, which reached the Omani coast and occupied many parts of it, including a number of cities that are now located within the geography of the United Arab Emirates after the establishment of the union. Quail Al Jinn, a novel, although its events are fictional, describes the condition of the people in the face of colonialism, through the details of their experience in that era, on which the events of the novel are based in the Khor Al Sifa Al Bayda region, which is an area from the writer's imagination. Such a name does not exist in reality, as the novel preserved those details in terms of living, housing, and trade, as well as the beliefs and customs that were alive in the souls of the people of the occupied regions, who rejected the occupation completely and in detail, and resisted it with word and deed, and with the primitive machines they possessed through which they sought to achieve freedom, even if its path was arduous.
