Caravan routes were the arteries through which civilizations moved between ancient societies, and strengthened the economy of kingdoms and peoples linked by complex networks of roads and sub-roads. In the case of a country with a diverse terrain like Yemen, caravans were one of the major challenges facing the ancient kingdoms. This book presents a unique systematic study of the caravan routes that the author used to study. The author used these routes from the eastern coast of the Red Sea to the regions covered by scattered Arab sources. He documented the most important ancient routes that connected the capital, Dhofar, to the western coast of Yemen, using the scientific method followed in archaeology. Thus, this book is a distinguished addition to the Yemeni archaeological library.
