About the author
Born in 1931, Gavin Winter grew up in County Durham to a middle-class family. He received a good education at secondary school and Durham University and achieved many sporting achievements, particularly in football and athletics. His National Service between 1950 and 1952 gave him experience with the Parachute Regiment in Egypt, a country then suffering from division and terrorism, which may have been the initial inspiration for the Matabei Contract. He worked in the iron and steel industry, then in construction, which provided him with the environment to set up his own company in 1977, from which he retired in 1996. He is married with two daughters and two sons from his first wife and six grandchildren. He enjoys playing tennis, ballroom dancing, playing the piano, and gardening. The Matabei Contract is Gavin's first novel. He is currently working on a sequel, documenting further exploits of Edward Steel and his companions, to be titled The Mpasi Project.

You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
