History of Greek Philosophy

"Philosophy" is the life of the ancient Greek, who based his life and priorities on it. He traced everything back to it, and he was creative in nothing more than he was in philosophy and literature. Greek philosophy has given us the greatest philosophers of all time; they are the ones who planted the seed of philosophy for the modern age. These philosophers laid the first principles of philosophy, but they also did not come from nothing. There were precursors that served as a glimmer of light that Greek philosophers transformed into a torch they carried to illuminate the sun of human civilization. This is what Muslim and European philosophers alike grasped, completing the never-ending journey of science. Youssef Karam has defined for us the basic frameworks upon which Greek philosophy was based from the dawn of history until the end of the role of Greek philosophy, thus beginning a new phase of Alexandrian and Scholastic philosophy.

History of Modern Philosophy

In addition to chronicling modern philosophy that emerged after medieval philosophies, The History of Modern Philosophy is a philosophical dictionary that clearly and easily identifies philosophers from the fifteenth century to the early twentieth. The first chapter of the book examines the remnants of ancient philosophies, discussing the Platonists, who derived their foundations for a natural religion, and the Averroists, who propagated atheism under the guise of studying Aristotle and Averroes. The second chapter discusses the mothers of modern doctrines, such as Descartes, Pascal, and Spinoza. The third chapter discusses the philosophies of realism and its figures, such as Hume and Bacon. The fourth chapter presents the philosophies of Maine de Biran and Auguste Comte, who attempted to encompass all aspects within a single doctrine. The fifth chapter traces the conflict between Darwin, Spencer, and the materialists who found new weapons in the theory of evolution, and the spiritualists supported by the French. Then, in the final chapter, the complete division between modern philosophies into two schools of thought becomes clear: materialistic and spiritual, which are constantly in conflict in search of solutions to major problems.

History of European Philosophy in the Middle Ages
This book addresses a significant phase in the history of philosophy: medieval European philosophy. The author begins with an introduction in which he outlines the stages through which medieval European philosophy passed, known at the time as "scholastic philosophy." The book is divided into chapters and sections that present the features that comprised this radical phase in the history of philosophy. The first chapter discusses the leading and distinctive philosophical figures of that period. The second chapter addresses the era extending from the Renaissance sparked by Charlemagne in the last quarter of the eighth century to the end of the twelfth century, and the flourishing scientific movement that characterized this era. The book then moves on to discuss the schools' separation from episcopal authority, the revolt against abstract meanings, and the tendency toward empirical reality.
