In this book, the author tried to cover each science individually in brief, so he would date it, enumerate the books that were written about it, indicate the scholars who studied it, then mention its issues, explain the opinions of scholars about it, and convey the opinions of scholars of exegesis, hadith scholars, jurists, legal theorists, Arabic scholars, and dialecticians. He divided his book into forty-seven sections, mentioning chapters, benefits, and notes within each section. Thus, the book became one of the most comprehensive and beneficial books written on the sciences of the Qur'an, and all those who came after him relied upon it, especially al-Suyuti.
