

Finally, these marginal notes are not among the compositions that Ibn Hisham, may God have mercy on him, intended to highlight and publish, but they are considered a kind of reminder that he attached to himself. Many of them are sayings, benefits, and warnings, which he records and uses for fear of forgetting, and to refer to them when needed. He wrote them at the beginning of his life, and benefited from them in his later compositions. This is evident from “Marginal Notes on the Grammar of the Qur’an.”
