Quraish language
This book studies the language of Quraysh in terms of grammar, morphology, and vocabulary. It also examines the views of Orientalists, ancient and modern Arabs on it, in terms of its eloquence and its connection to the language of the Qur'an and to the ideal language that some believe the Arabs used for poetry and oratory. It explains the meanings of eloquence and its connotations in ancient linguistic thought, as well as its criterion. It discusses the views of ancient and modern scholars on the Qur'an being revealed in the language of Quraysh. Before this, it provides an introduction in which it presents the terminology used by ancient sources to refer to the language of Quraysh, such as the language of the people of Hijaz, the language of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), etc. He concluded that the Arabs did not have a perfect language in the pre-Islamic era, as some modern Arabs and Orientalists have claimed. Rather, the perfect language emerged in the Islamic era, when the Arabs had a religion, a book, and a state. He concluded that the Holy Qur’an was revealed in the language of the Quraysh, as the scholars of the nation, including jurists, commentators, writers, and linguists, have unanimously agreed upon, as has been authenticated from the great Companions and Followers.
The revelation of the Holy Qur’an in the language of Quraysh: a myth or a reality?
This book discusses the arguments that Dr. Omar Ali Al-Dulaimi made in his book “The Revelation of the Holy Qur’an in the Language of Quraysh: Between Truth and Illusion,” denying the Qur’an’s revelation in the language of Quraysh, and the arguments he based his opinion on. This is not a new opinion, but he elaborated on it at length and presented it with evidence that he believes has never been used before. Since I have already discussed the contents of his book on “The Language of Quraysh” and refuted most of the opinions and arguments it contained, I did not wish to expand on the discussion here. Rather, I limited myself to discussing what was written about the common language of the pre-Islamic Arabs, the eloquence of Quraysh, and the revelation of the Holy Qur’an in their language.
Mischief in the language of Quraysh
This is a discussion of articles, the first of which Dr. Hamza Al-Mazini wrote in Al-Riyadh newspaper on Thursday 4/11/1412 and 12/11/1412 AH. I did not intend to publish them; they were a response to non-objective articles, and lacked knowledge of the book’s subject, nor insight into methods of analysis and thought. I thought that if he reconsidered them, he would discover in them what he had concealed from his passion on the day of publication; and he was disdainful of them being attributed to him. However, he published them in a book, entitled “Linguistic Reviews,” so I decided to publish these articles of mine as an insight and a reminder. It has increased my awareness that many readers are susceptible to what they read, even specialized academics, who should have enough insight and investigation to prevent them from accepting everything they read. This is in addition to what I have seen of his seriousness in publishing and broadcasting what he writes, and that whoever sees what he has written will inevitably accept what he claims. The Arabs say: “Whoever listens will be mistaken.” Publishing my discussion with him helps with insight and knowing what I have deliberately wronged and attacked him with, from what I have written in “the language of Quraysh.”
