Explanation of the Fundamentals of the Creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah from the Qur'an, the Sunnah, the Consensus of the Companions, the Followers, and those who came after them is a book on Islamic creed by Hibat Allah ibn al-Hasan ibn Mansur al-Tabari al-Lalaka'i al-Shafi'i (d. 418 AH). In it, al-Lalaka'i divided the fundamentals of the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah into monotheism, the names and attributes, belief in the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him), the meaning of belief as words and deeds, belief in intercession, belief in the Hereafter, Paradise and Hell, and the scenes of the Day of Judgment, and the virtues of the Companions.
Al-Lalaka'i mentioned in the introduction that he wrote the book because:
Some scholars asked him to write a book explaining the beliefs of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah.
The scholars of his time turned away from the doctrine of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah and became preoccupied with the other sciences they had introduced.
