This work is a study of the poetry collection of the poet "Nabigha ibn Shaiban", a stallion poet, who dealt with the desert in his poetry, and also included the mention of the Arab Bedouin proverbs that were prevalent during the pre-Islamic and Islamic eras. His poetry was full of love poetry, praise, description and satire, and the poetry of praise in his poetry was related to the caliphs and princes, especially the Umayyads, whom he praised and who rewarded him with gifts, as he praised Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, and after him his son. This copy of the poetry collection of "Nabigha ibn Shaiban" was adopted as a single manuscript copy, as it was guaranteed by Dr. Muhammad Jabbar al-Asadi, in his citation when verifying the book in the library of Sulaymaniyah books in Spain - Madrid (980). The manuscript is 147 pages long, and was cut in the middle. The copy does not contain the name of the copyist nor the date of copying. Dr. Basri confirmed that it was written before the fourth century AH, with dictation, correction and punctuation, and linguistic and graduation sources. Graduation of the poems included in the collection, and explanation of some of the meanings and beautiful poetic images by comparing them with some contemporary poets such as Al-Farazdaq, Al-A'sha, Zuhair and others. The poet also did this work, relying on identifying the poet "Nabigha bin Shaiban" and presenting his lineage, life and poetic art, and highlighting his status among the poets of his time. He did not forget to display pictures from the original manuscript of the collection.
