The aim of this book's reading of Bashar ibn Burd's poetry is to free Ibn Burd's poetry from the swamp of distortion and misinterpretation, and present it in a new form that combines precision in presentation, coordination in sequence, and ease of explanation. It is worth noting that Ibn Burd's poetry was obscure and that the repetitive poetic image was hidden. It is worth noting that Ibn Burd's collection of poems did not require an exhaustive explanation from the editor, but rather a proper reading of the manuscripts that contained the collection. Therefore, we find that the editor was brief in his explanation, due to what he found in Bashar ibn Burd's poetry of a biography in presentation, ease in drawing poetic images, and the repetition of some situations and actions and the way of expressing them. By referring to the biography of this poet, we find that he is considered one of the veterans of the Umayyad and Abbasid states. He wrote a lot of poetry during the Umayyad era and praised some of its caliphs and men. When the Abbasid state came, he completely changed after satirizing Abu Jaafar al-Mansur, then he changed this satire and made it about Abu Muslim al-Khorasani. His praises became for Abu al-Abbas al-Saffah and al-Mansur, and he praised al-Mahdi more, and exaggerated in showing fanaticism for the Abbasid Caliphate.
