Diwan of Labid ibn Rabi'ah al-Amiri

Author's name: Labid bin Rabi'ah Al-Amiri

Labid ibn Rabi'ah ibn Malik, Abu Aqil Al-Amri. One of the noble knight poets of the pre-Islamic era. From the people of Upper Najd. He witnessed Islam and visited the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He is considered one of the Companions and one of those whose hearts were reconciled. He abandoned poetry, and only wrote one verse about Islam. It was said: It is what a generous person blames himself for, and a person is reformed by a righteous companion. He lived in Kufa and lived a long life. He is one of the authors of the Mu'allaqat. The beginning of his Mu'allaqat is: The homes have been destroyed, their place is in Mina, its ghoul is eternal, its spears are eternal. He was generous: He vowed that the north wind would not blow except that he would slaughter and feed.
