What excites me most about the subject is to go searching for all those traces, clues, and elements that allow us to give the dead a final word, and make us listen to what they have to say, in short, allow us to interrogate them.

With these words, Dr. Philippe Boxo, a forensic scientist for more than thirty years, introduces his new book, in which assassinations and murders follow one another without pause.

The renowned forensic pathologist chose to tell us, first of all, some of the stories that marked his professional life: that fake suicide with a firearm, that child who was neglected by his parents and died as a result, those two bodies that were found in a freezer, those drug addicts who were liquidated because of a trivial theft story, that woman who was strangled by her husband, and many other stories.

Philippe Boxxo delighted us with his successful debut novel, *The Word Belongs to the Dead*, a book filled with stories of people who weren't always truly dead, bodies that couldn't be found, astonishing suicides, and sometimes brutal but accidental deaths. In his second work, this time dedicated to suspicious deaths, he continues his quest for forensic truth and allows us to explore the fascinating world of forensics.
