The poetry collection "The Absentee Saved from Interpretation" includes 28 poems, some short and some long, addressing emotional, national, philosophical, and contemplative issues. The relationship with women forms a significant محور in the collection, stemming from the poet's elevated humanistic and civilizational view of women. Exile also constitutes a main محور, as the poet has been living abroad for many years. The poet also resorts to writing abstract, contemplative poems at times, as a result of his interaction with external existence and his immersion in anthropomorphizing things. This collection, which is now before us, is the eighth in Anwar Al-Khatib's series of poetic works, and it comes within the context of his poetic project that aspires to establish a different language and a vibrant, diverse and distinct structure for the Arabic poem, so that it saves itself from routine, repetition, and rigid templates.
