An organization is an entity with a system capable of achieving its goals within its operating environment, which is also a system entity. Understanding this book, which we offer to those interested in foresight practices, is based on this fundamental understanding of the concept of the organization's entity and the entity of its operating environment. The other concept that emerges in the opening sentence is the concept of a system, meaning that both entities are systems that interact with each other and influence each other, sometimes positively and sometimes negatively.
What we mentioned above does not represent a scientific discovery, as it has existed and been effective since humans invented the concept of an organization hundreds of years ago. What we want to highlight in this book are the recent developments in the behavior of the operating environment's entity, and how the organization's entity or system should deal with them. The neglect or indifference of organizations to changes in the behavior of their external environment is, without a doubt, destructive to them, whether they are governmental or private organizations. The new aspect of the external environment's behavior for organizations is its tendency towards turbulence in various sectors that compose it, including its economic, political, technological, and other sectors.
