The book examines the experiences of eleven French writers, chosen by His Highness for their diverse approaches to presenting historical material in their theatrical texts.
His Highness has consistently enriched each new edition of the Sharjah Theater Days, either with a new creative text or a research book on the history, culture, and makers of theater, both locally and internationally. This demonstrates His Highness's keen interest in the serious and robust cultural nature of this artistic, intellectual, and social event, which is graced by his presence every year and enjoys his generous patronage and inspiring guidance.
It can be said that this new book stems from the interest of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in historical material, whether as a subject for scientific research, a narrative for storytelling, or a scenario for theatrical performance. His Highness has continuously enriched the Arab library with works in these three fields, approaching various historical events, especially in the Arab region, discussing historians, and meticulously examining, analyzing, and verifying documents and information from various sources and references distributed worldwide.
The French writers chosen by His Highness are: Edmond Rostand, Romain Rolland, Albert Camus, Jean Cocteau, Henry de Montherlant, Alexandre Arnoux, Paul Claudel, Jean Anouilh, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Sacha Guitry.
