The Art of Always Being Right

Author: Arthur Schopenhauer

"The Art of Always Being Right, or The Prickly Dialectic," is a book by the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, in which he explains the models of arguments and fallacies used when disputing parties contend a certain position. Each party, or one of them, may seek to undermine their opponent by adopting various means related to statements and events. The methods of deception branch into those built on language, using linguistic tricks such as concealing intent, obscuring phrasing, employing false premises, and omitting some, as well as other means capable of enabling the speaker to convey their discourse and make their argument appear superficially acceptable. It was translated into Arabic by Professor Ridwan Al-Asbah and reviewed by Dr. Hassan Al-Bahi. The methods of deception are based on what language is built upon, through many linguistic tricks, such as operations to hide the goal, as well as the use of phrases, and also working to use more false premises and hide some of them, and there are more ways to ensure that, and this makes the addressee pass on his speech and use more seemingly acceptable arguments.
