Many historians have devoted themselves to translating the biography of the great companion Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, leaving little to say about him. Al-Aqqad realized this, and his book on Abu Bakr differed. He presented a psychological and analytical study of Abu Bakr's personality, exploring his qualities and personal traits and deducing the motivations behind his behavior. Al-Aqqad presents historical news and events, not to present them in themselves, but to uncover the keys to the personality of the first caliph through his interaction with events and dealings with people. He also examines his environment and life before and after Islam, as well as the circumstances of his conversion to Islam. He then compares him to Omar ibn al-Khattab, highlighting the differences between their personalities and character. He also presents aspects of his management of the affairs of the caliphate in the nascent Islamic state and how he handled the crises that nearly swept it away.
