Spring comes rarely

The events take place in the village of Taiba in central Sudan, Al-Jazeera State. Its heroine is a beautiful and educated doctor who holds the threads of the narrative, expressing herself and the main characters in the story. She returns to her village after completing her studies and makes major changes in the life of the village. Chance played a role in her taking the initiative to change, and she pulled the village out of its slumber within fifteen years. Then she discovers that she wasted her life and beauty, and that she was loved by everyone, but she remained a spinster. She represents a member of a group of six children who were predicted to be brilliant by the school principal during their primary school years. Through the narration, she answers what happened to them after years of the prophecy. One of them was killed and the other a murderer due to racist tendencies. The history of the murdered man, who descended from a grandfather who was gentle in the past, dared to propose to the murderer’s sister. Discovering the secret of the crime in the last chapters gives the novel suspense. One of them left school and inherited the butchery profession from his father. It was discovered that he cheated in his slaughtering, and presented dead animals that were not slaughtered in the proper way. The legitimacy, then the peak of the crisis when the doctor meets her colleague whom she left since she was a trainee doctor, and who loved her and had confessed his love to her in a letter thirteen years ago, to discover by chance that he lives in the same newly emerging capital neighborhood, after she left the village to live in the capital to obtain a medical specialty, then her leaving the village makes the village collapse and return to what it was, a remote village without lights, after she caused a spring (change) that comes rarely, because of her activity in the village hospital, and creating confidence in her ability to treat patients, and the turnout of the people of the neighboring villages, and the establishment of the village market and its expansion and the abundance of activities, the village expanded and took on a greater economic and social dimension, then collapsed in less than a few months after the doctor (the hero of the novel) left the village after her shock and the collapse of her wedding when the police arrested the groom accused of the murder
