The publication of the book "Self-Narrative" in 2009 was an event anticipated by many followers and intellectuals, not only in Sharjah or the UAE, driven by an urgent desire to gain further insight into the intellectual, literary, and life experiences of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Union and Ruler of Sharjah. In "Self-Narrative," Sheikh Dr. Sultan speaks about himself as an ambitious young man, encompassing all that youth entails in terms of dreams, adventures, frustrations, and aspirations. He does not sugarcoat or flatter, even though the power of the pen is in his hand. However, the audacity of speaking about the life he lived as it truly was makes "Self-Narrative" closer to the reader's heart and grants the book respect, appreciation, and standing, with all its emotions, feelings, honesty, transparency, and candid presentation. The generation of Sheikh Dr. Sultan, as well as the generations of parents and grandparents, will discover the truth from its various aspects in "Self-Narrative." Before them are lines that tell the full details of the picture, events written with impartiality and historical integrity by a person who lived them from within.
