"In My Memory, There Is a Place - The Roots" is a fictional novel with a historical heritage spirit. Its author takes us on a journey through the history of an imaginary Qatari family living in one of the northern villages of Qatar, some 150 years ago. Through the novel's events, the author paints many vivid pictures of some aspects of life in Qatar's cities and villages before the discovery of oil, and the accompanying settlements, migrations, tools, clothing, and famous professions. Perhaps the most important of these was diving in the Gulf in search of pearls, which is the focus of this novel. On a Wednesday afternoon in the spring of 1896, Hessa bint Ghanem dared to tearfully beg her husband, Mubarak bin Mushrif, not to take her seven-year-old son, Mushrif, on the upcoming "Khankiya" trip (a spring diving trip), confirming that a disturbing dream still haunted her, causing her fear. However, her husband, Mubarak bin Mushrif, ignored her plea and insisted on taking the young boy on his trip. What would happen to the young boy, Mushrif, and his mother, Hessa, after they set out on the pearl diving trip?
