God's law of empowering His servants began first with the Companions of the Messenger of God. They fulfilled the qualities God Almighty stipulated for His successors on earth: true worship of Him and submission and obedience to His commands. From the first moments of their conversion to Islam, the Companions knew what God stipulated, so they worked hard and exerted themselves to achieve it, and they endured displacement, torture, and great hardships. God's true promise never escaped their eyes, whether they were slaves or free, rulers or ruled. God bestowed upon them what He promised them and empowered them on earth. They continued steadfastly on the path drawn for them by their first teacher, the Messenger of God, until they met their Lord, having set a practical example of what God had established... It is "the true promise."
