Lost Love - Taha Hussein

Between a lost love and a desperate one, between a sinful love and a forced one, lie suspended souls, imaginations and specters, and the flowing artistry of storytelling created by the Dean of Arabic Literature, who made it a mirror of the human psyche in its strength and weakness, its vigor and its decay. In the longest story, which lends its name to the collection, "Taha Hussein" tells us the tale of betrayal and loyalty through the voice of a French girl whose family was stripped of joy and children by war. No sooner had love knocked on her heart than radiance returned to her soul after its dimming, and she lived her early years of marriage in peace and comfort, until the beautiful picture was stained with an intrusive color that did not suit her sincerity and the purity of her soul. "Madeleine Morel" could not tolerate those who stole her joy, so she chose to end her life; perhaps in the loss of the soul there is an escape and salvation from the loss of the heart.
