Climate 82 was a fantasy that collapsed

This book took more than five years to complete, and the COVID-19 pandemic delayed its completion. I began by reviewing a collection of books, documents, and most of the statements and articles related to the crisis, some of which required visits to the British Library in London and travel to Paris, Jeddah, and Bahrain. I also reviewed eight volumes, including most of the newspaper and periodical publications about the crisis, the repercussions of which continued, perhaps even up to the book's publication date.

This book features interviews with more than 38 people involved in the crisis. I met with them under various circumstances, and after much effort in arranging appointments and obtaining their approval, each person told their story. Among them were experienced individuals familiar with what had happened in other financial markets, government officials who were tasked at the time with planning a way out of the crisis, and some of them were themselves involved in it.

The criteria for selecting them varied between those who remained among them, and who are still aware of its events after about 40 years, and those who I estimated, through diligence, that they had a role in its events that deserved to be documented, and living through the experiences of those personalities during the climate crisis is today an embodiment of lessons and morals that are now being narrated with a bit of humor and sarcasm as well.
