Despite all this, they are required to maintain a high level of concentration during their shifts, as they are dealing with lives, and any simple mistake can lead to disastrous consequences. Furthermore, the salary is very modest during their residency, which increases the pressure on doctors.

The best thing about the book is that Dr. Adam Kay narrates his diaries in a way that is close to black comedy. He has a strange sense of humor.
