A captivating collection of tales that delve deep into the worlds of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Silmarlewan," and contains an alternate narrative of the "Descendants of Horn" saga.
The book “Unfinished Tales” is a treasure trove of narratives that takes the reader on a journey through the ages, from the earliest days of Middle-earth to the end of the War of the Ring, placing in the hands of “Lord of the Rings” readers a rich bouquet of new insights and stories never before told, by the most popular and famous author of the twentieth century.
The book focuses on the world of Middle-earth, and includes gems such as: Gandalf’s delightful tale of how he sent the dwarves to that famous ball at the bottom of the Jewel, the scene of Olmo, Lord of the Waters, appearing before Thor’s eyes on the shores of Belriand, and an accurate description of the military organization of the Knights of Rohan.
The book also contains the only surviving tale from the long ages of Numrunar before its fall, and all that is known about secrets such as the Five Wizards, the Plantery Stones, and the legend of Amruth.
Christopher Tolkien, the son and literary heir of J. R. R. Tolkien, undertook the task of collecting and verifying these tales, providing commentary and explanation with each story to help the reader fill in the gaps and place each part in its context within the great mythical structure built by his father.
