This book examines the underlying reasons behind the shift in the Western attitude toward Jews: from extreme hostility toward them, forcing them to change their religion, and claiming their responsibility for certain historical events, to unconditional, brazen support for the settler state. We present a brief overview of European history to understand the mechanism of its development and the determinants of its behavior. In this context, we focus on the five centuries from the fall of Granada in the fifteenth century, the rise of the Spanish Inquisition, to the establishment of the settler state in the twentieth century. These five centuries constitute the core of the Western colonial era, during which the Western attitude toward Jews changed, and the West shifted to supporting them as a functional group. We will also shed light on a number of early settlement attempts in many places, hundreds of years before the establishment of the settler state.
