This is a social book in which Gustave Le Bon discusses the political spirit of groups as the engine of intellectual life that drives group battles in all other human fields, such as the economic, military, and social fields. In this book, the author discusses a group of pivotal issues, most notably his discussion of the extent of the tyranny of oppressive regimes and the rejection of European socialist movements - at that time - of the monopoly of capitalist movements over the capabilities of governance. The author then moves on to research the consequences of applying European educational curricula to backward peoples. He also discusses the colonial approach of European countries that violates the capabilities of peoples with the legitimacy of the illusion they call freedom, explaining a number of political murders and images of fanaticism and religious persecution that some societies are stigmatized with.
