Kafka used his body parts and face to help him speak, and if he could make a gesture, he would. He was simple and shy, as if he was saying to his interlocutor: Please, I am much less than you think, and you could do me a great service if you ignored me.
He is desperate, silent, tormented, sick, and sometimes insane. His salient feature is anger, born of anxiety, which transforms itself into toxic fumes when it comes into contact with life.
After a long time, it is time for Kafka's complete works to appear. We have presented selections from the long story "The Immensity Worm," and in this second section we present the complete collection of letters to Milena, his lover, friend, and translator.
Writing letters... means being naked before ghosts, which is what those ghosts greedily await. Written kisses never reach their goal, as the ghosts drink them along the way.
Kafka in his letters here, to a married woman, a sweet man, temporarily relieved of his tension, and relaxed in love, without noticing the goddesses of vengeance who pursue him: (Flowers slowly open in front of my balcony... and in the room lizards and birds and various kinds of creatures visit me, pair by pair... I long with great eagerness for you to be here in Meran!) Or so he clings to the top of the fence of life, then quickly falls, retreating, with wounded, flayed hands
