This caused a major uproar in cultural circles concerned with strategic history. The book was reprinted in succession, and the Egyptian state worked to restore the reputation of the hero, whose rights had been neglected for many years for personal reasons.
Later, Egypt and the Arab region witnessed major political events that represented precursors to some of the scenarios the man saw as potentially targeting the stability and unity of the Arab world. Predictions that some had considered mere fantasy came true.
In this expanded and updated edition, author Mustafa Obeid opens a broader window to view the Egyptian national military hero and one of its immortal symbols, updating some information about his biography, while publishing rare and new photos of him.
