History repeats itself
It is a strange thing for time to recall its events, for history to reclaim its pages and rewrite them once again.
When the Tatar hordes led by Hulagu invaded Baghdad hundreds of years ago, the Tatars' horses trampled on the Baghdad Library, throwing its heritage into the Euphrates River. Hulagu also killed the last Abbasid Caliph, Al-Musta'sim Billah, and marked the end of 500 years of the Islamic state's most civilized and prosperous achievements.
This poetic play contains a sad lament, a bloody elegy, and an eternal question: How do peoples end and nations fall?!
It's a lesson from the past, as if history is repeating itself, and tonight is very similar to yesterday! Because Hulagu exists in every era, and lost civilizations are stories that never fade with time.
