I always try to avoid using the phrase "Didn't I tell you?" I never like this phrase, but this book has no other purpose than for me to say this phrase to you. These chapters were written since the morning after Mubarak's departure, perhaps everything in them reminds you that Egypt only listens late, if it listens at all! When crises accumulate, the picture darkens, imagination becomes barren, and the mind becomes confused if it works, people expect thinkers and analysts to speak, and when they do, society generally does not listen, understand, or act on their opinions. Therefore, it is perfectly natural then that this book of mine comes to make you hear the phrase I do not like to hear, while it is clear that I long to repeat it: "Didn't I tell you?".
