It is difficult to imagine a more captivating display of Edith Nesbit's fertile imagination than this wonderful book, first published in 1907, about three kindly brothers and their adventures with a magic ring and an enchanted castle.
Three siblings discover a tunnel leading to a castle and pretend it's enchanted. Instead, they discover a sleeping princess amidst a maze of passages, and then a wish-granting ring amidst a pile of jewels. However, the ring seems to have a will of its own and doesn't behave as they expect, creating an atmosphere of comedy and mystery. But wishes granted aren't always pleasant, as the children find themselves grappling with invisibility, dinosaurs, a ghost, and strange creatures above all else.
