Uncle's Dream

Uncle's Dream takes us to a small 19th-century Russian town, where Maria Alexandrovna Moskaleva, with a keen mind and restless ambition, strives to marry her daughter Zinaida to an old, wealthy, and ailing prince. Perhaps this marriage will be a salvation from their financial hardship and an ascent on the social ladder.

In this atmosphere charged with false appearances, ambitions intertwine with rumors, and cold calculations mix with heartfelt emotions, turning human relationships into a stage for manipulation and deceit. Dostoevsky, with a sarcastic and realistic touch, paints an accurate picture of a small society governed by desires and pretensions, and its events reveal the

fragility of human plans when they collide with reality.

It is a story about illusion and ambition, about humans betting on others more than on themselves, and about a truth that eventually creeps in, with cruel serenity, to overturn everything built on the dream.
