The Ring of the Dove is considered the most complete book written by the Arabs on love, its meanings, manifestations, and signs. In it, Imam Ali ibn Hazm al-Andalusi presents detailed chapters in which he left out almost nothing related to love, near or far, without discussing it. He began by talking about the nature of love, and then went on to detail everything until he finally arrived at two chapters in which he explained the ugliness of disobedience and the virtue of chastity. He included in this valuable book the most beautiful and sweetest poetry of the Arabs.
