Nizar Qabbani

In this collection, written for him by the Lebanese poet Henry Zoghaib, we recall the cities that Nizar inhabited and that inhabited him. Those he loved and those that pained him, those for which his ink flowed in adoration, thus creating his empire to which he never belonged except to it, and his loyalty only to the Arabism that oozes from its soil. Nizar Qabbani was prolific in his writing, bestowing upon us the kingdom of poetry and language. He remained faithful to himself in everything he wrote, and only to himself, as he strived to be a free, accomplished, and productive poet in more than one field. On the centenary of his birth, we honor his memory by publishing three selected poetry collections, organized by theme.
