They were compiled by Imam al-Nawawi, who committed himself to compiling them all to be authentic. He explained his reason for compiling the forty, saying: \"Some scholars compiled the forty on the fundamentals of religion, some on branches, some on jihad, some on asceticism, and some on sermons. All of these are valid objectives. May Allah be pleased with those who seek them. I found that compiling forty hadiths is more important than all of this. They are forty hadiths that encompass all of that, and each hadith represents a major principle of the religion. Scholars have described it as the center of Islam, or half of Islam, or a third of Islam, or something similar.\" He then committed himself to ensuring that these forty hadiths were authentic, and omitted their chains of transmission to facilitate memorization. He followed them with a chapter on the subtle pronunciation of their wording. The author completed compiling them on the night of Thursday, 29 Jumada al-Awwal, 668 AH. Al-Nawawi said in the introduction to his book about this hadith and the extent of his reliance on it in collecting the Forty Nawawi Hadiths: “The scholars have agreed on the permissibility of acting upon weak hadiths regarding the virtues of deeds. However, I do not rely on this hadith, but rather on his saying - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - in the authentic hadiths: ‘Let the one among you who is present inform the one who is absent,’ and his saying: ‘May God make prosperous the man who hears my words, understands them, and conveys them as he heard them.’ Professor Maher al-Hindi commented on al-Nawawi’s statement, saying that relying on weak hadiths regarding the virtues of deeds is the opinion of the majority and is not agreed upon.”\u003c\/h3\u003e","brand":"DAR ALBASHIR","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47713472544922,"sku":"978242","price":49.0,"currency_code":"AED","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0603\/9335\/7466\/files\/FlCE7OppB1LqBZOG76eaq0kCMajkaFhjOygivJQ9.webp?v=1775592582","url":"https:\/\/bookfanar.com\/en\/products\/978242","provider":"Book Fanar","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
