Author: Mustafa Sadiq Al-Rafe'i

These are letters that did not come from sorrows, but because they ended from sorrow, then because they are from a tongue that was a ladder translating from a heart that was a war; then because this erotic history was springing up like life and was like life going to a grave!

Al-Rafe’i addresses himself in this book in the style of (abstraction). He claims that they are letters from a friend sent to him, and you see him addressing them to that unknown friend, seeking his help in comforting him by complaining and complaining. Then he fabricates, on the tongue of that friend, fragments of the letters, and uses them as a style of speaking in his letters. There is no friend or letters, except that Al-Rafe’i and his letters, in which he talks to himself about the story of his love, his hopes, and what he has become.

Or say that Al-Rafei, in these letters, put one thing in place of another, so he created these letters for his lover, then published them as a book for her to read to learn about his condition what she did not know, or what he thinks she did not know. They are his letters to her in a style of the pride of love, her soul suffers but she does not attain his pride!

Although the letters of sorrow were the first love letters between Al-Rafei and his girlfriend - after the estrangement between them - the novel continued in chapters after that; the last two books were: The Red Clouds and Rose Leaves!
